Diesel Heater Installation in Bendigo
A diesel heater turns a cold van into somewhere you actually want to spend the evening. It runs off a small amount of fuel, draws very little power from your battery, and keeps the inside of your caravan or camper warm and dry through a Central Victorian winter.
We supply and fit quality diesel heater kits chosen to suit your particular van — not a generic one-size-fits-all box off a shelf. The install is done at your place, your workplace or wherever your van is parked, and we take the time to route the fuel line, exhaust and ducting properly so it's safe, quiet and tidy.
How we approach the job
The right kit for your van
We match heater output to the size and layout of your caravan or camper. An oversized unit short-cycles and wastes fuel; an undersized one never quite gets there. We'll talk through what you've got before we order anything.
Safe fuel and exhaust routing
Fuel tank or tank-tap pickup, properly clipped lines, and an exhaust routed and heat-shielded so it clears everything underneath. This is the part that gets rushed on cheap installs — it's the part we take the longest over.
Ducting and outlet placement
We'll work out where the warm air actually needs to come out, and where the return needs to draw from, so the van heats evenly instead of roasting one corner.
Correct 12V wiring and fusing
Fused at the correct rating, wired into your existing 12V system properly, and switched somewhere you can reach it from bed.
Tested and handed over
We run the heater up, check the burn, and walk you through the controller before we leave — including what to do at altitude and how to run the fuel pump priming cycle.
Mobile across Central Victoria
We're based in Bendigo and we come to you — your home, your workplace, or wherever the van is parked. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask.
Diesel Heaters — your questions answered
How much does diesel heater installation cost in Bendigo?
It depends on the kit you choose and how involved the install is — tank pickup versus a separate fuel tank, ducting runs, and where the unit needs to sit all change the job. Give Gary a call on 0408 374 456 with your van details and you'll get a straight quote with no obligation.
How long does the installation take?
Most caravan and camper installs are a single-day job. More involved fitouts, or installs combined with other 12V work, can run longer — we'll tell you upfront when we quote.
Do I need to bring my caravan to a workshop?
No. RV/DC is a mobile service. We come to your home, your workplace, or wherever your van is stored across Bendigo and Central Victoria and do the install on site.
How much diesel does a heater use?
Typically in the range of 0.1 to 0.3 litres an hour depending on the setting, so a night's heating uses very little fuel. Power draw is also low once the unit is past its start-up cycle, which is why they suit off-grid camping so well.
Can you install a diesel heater in a camper trailer or canopy?
Yes. We fit heaters to caravans, camper trailers, canopies and vehicle fitouts. The approach changes with the space available, which is another reason we prefer to talk through your setup before quoting.
